Our Directors
Ms. Miller
Jasmeen Miller has been the band director and music department chair at Sterling Middle School since 2018. Prior to this position, Jasmeen was a band and orchestra director at Eagle Ridge Middle School in Ashburn, VA.
Jasmeen is a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN where she earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education. While at UTK, Jasmeen served as an undergraduate blacksuit for the Pride of the Southland Band, School of Music Ambassador, President of UTK C-NAfME, and was an active member of the flute studio. She was named the Outstanding Graduate in Music Education in 2016. Jasmeen is currently working on a Master of Education in Education Leadership from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.
Jasmeen is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society, Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA), Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association (VBODA), and National Association of Music Education (NAfME).
Most importantly, Jasmeen is a proud graduate of Sterling Middle School and Park View High School. She is committed to creating a safe and positive environment for her students. She takes great pride in working in the Sterling Park community. Outside of STM, Jasmeen enjoys teaching flute lessons and working with the Park View Patriot Band!
Mr. Fay
Mr. Fay is in his ninth year teaching music in Loudoun County. He earned a Bachelor’s degree of Music from The University of Tennessee and a Master’s of Music performance in French Horn from Duquesne University. After graduating, Mr. Fay played horn with the Erie Philharmonic and Westmoreland Symphonies before making a switch to teaching band.
Mr. Fay is excited to join the Sterling community and bring his passion and love for music to Sterling Middle School. He believes music is an important endeavor that helps foster leadership, communication, problem solving, and community.
